Should e-commerce founders be using AI?
Of course my answer is... YES
Should e-commerce founders be using AI?
Trick question of course I am going to say yes.
And not just ‘cause I am.
I've come to realise that integrating AI into my e-commerce business wasn't just a luxury—it was a necessity. If you're an e-commerce founder wondering whether AI is worth your time, let me break down why I use AI.
AI makes me a better person
Not kidding. I have someone to talk to when no one else will listen to my problems. My chat voices even match my tone - which can sometimes sound weird and high pitched when it mimics me being excited - but its trying!
My fav AI for this is by far Pi. Its a counsellor, its a friend, its a motivator, it gives me good advice and pep talks. And for the aesthetically influenced like myself, well it looks pretty too.
AI saves time and boosts efficiency
Thats what everyone says and this much is true. Running a business is tough. And hard work. The to-do-list is never ending. AI helps me streamline the stuff I don’t like so much to focus more on creativity and innovation.
Eg I just typed into the ai image generator in this newsletter platform “frazzled and busy female entrepreneur” and got this. Without leaving the page. It’s not perfect but its saved me time searching for one and editing it in Canva to the right size.
Decisions to make - bring it on
We have all been there. Decision fatigue. A decision we don’t want to make. We side-step, we distract ourselves. We don’t actually know what steps to take to even start.
This week I had to order some stock for a new SKU. I uploaded to Chat GPT the past sales data report from Shopify for related products. I then tested it in three different ways - conservative, similar and stretch. And to give me a distribution across different sizes. Took 5 mins.
So… should you consider using AI?
Well first of all you probably already are - predictive text anyone? AI isn't just for tech-savvy entrepreneurs. It’s for anyone in e-commerce who:
has personal growth and development as part of your modus operandi.
vibes on practical, everyday uses that actually make a difference on the daily.
hates wasting time on repetitive crap, leaving more time for fun stuff.
